Richard Eminhizer Obituary
April 27, 1931 - February 19, 2025
Bellefonte, Pennsylvania - Richard C. Eminhizer, 93, of Bellefonte, passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home. Born April 27, 1931, he was the son of the late Willis Willard and Susanna Hazel Miller Eminhizer. On April 18, 1953, he married Beverly Jean Connell, who passed away November 24, 2020.
Dick was a 1948 graduate of Bellefonte High School. After school, he enlisted in the Navy, stationed at Norfolk Naval Station on submarine tender USS Orion. He traveled to Cuba and the US Virgin Islands. After the service, he was employed by Titan Metal/Cerro Copper and Brass as a dispatcher until retirement.
He is survived by a daughter, Joan Schleiden of Port Charlotte, FL, and a son, Chad Eminhizer of Bellefonte, PA, and a grandson, Dan Schleiden (Shannon), and "surrogate" granddaughter Natalie Nau Healy, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by an infant son, David, two brothers, Ken and Gerald, and a sister, Arlene Rider.
Dick was a lifelong resident of Valley View who enjoyed helping his neighbors with any project.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers and staff at Eagle Valley Personal Care Home who took wonderful care of him. Also, to Crystal Wierbowski who was his closet buddy, caregiver and guardian angel. Thank you, Crystal.
Funeral and burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc.
Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to Greater Buffalo Run Valley United Methodist Church, 102 Trinity Court, Bellefonte PA 16823.
