Rose Cecelia Hahn

Rose Cecelia Hahn May 11, 1921 -February 6, 2008 Rose Cecelia Hahn, 86, of Moshannon, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2008, at her home. Born May 11, 1921, in Philadelphia, she is the daughter of the late James J. and Elizabeth Hughes Mackel. On Jan. 16, 1940, in Snow Shoe, she married Luther W. "Cookie" Hahn, who died in 1997. Rose attended the Star School in Pine Glen. She was a homemaker. She is survived by four sons, James F. Hahn, of Pine Glen, Charles M. Hahn, of Richboro, Richard D. Hahn, of Carlisle and Robert E. Hahn, of Moshannon; by eight grandchildren, Lisa, Tim, Annette, Anita, David, Damien, Heidi and Jessica; and by three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Hunter and Mia. Along with her parents and husband, Rose is preceded in death by two brothers, James Mackel and Charles Mackel, and one sister, Margaret Friel. Rose was a member of the Queen of Archangel Chapel (St. Mary's Catholic Church) in Snow Shoe, where she enjoyed singing in the choir for many years. She was also a member of the Snow Shoe Senior Citizens Center. Visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St., Snow Shoe, with a rosary being said at 3:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Feb. 11, 2008, at 11 a.m., at the Queen of Archangel Chapel (St. Mary's Catholic Church) in Snow Shoe, with Father Lubomir J. Strecok officiating. Burial will immediately follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Snow Shoe. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Snow Show Senior Citizen's Center, 402 W. Sycamore St., Snow Show, PA 16874.
