Tacoma, Washington - Scott Edward Hoover, 52, formerly of Pine Glen, passed way suddenly on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma, WA. Scott was born on September 6, 1969, in Clearfield, he was the son of John and Barbara Hoover of Pine Glen. He married Kyesun Anderson in 1989.
Scott was a 1987 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. The following year, he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. He retired and received his honorable discharge after 20 years of service. He served in Fort Carson, Fort Lewis, Germany, Korea, and two tours to Iraq. On his second tour to Iraq, he was wounded and was awarded the Purple Heart. After retiring from the military, he went to work for Tacoma Public Utilities, where he had 13 years of service until his death.
Scott was a devoted husband, father, and son. He enjoyed fishing, metal detecting, cooking, hunting, and spending time with his family. Even though he lived out of the area, he came back to his hometown of Pine Glen as much as possible. He had a huge circle of family and friends, and all will miss him.
Scott is survived by his parents, wife, one son Nicholas Hoover and his wife, Natalie; two daughters: Valerie Humbert and her husband, Tim, and Juliet Lovejoy and her husband, Tracy; one granddaughter, Penny Lovejoy, and one grandson, Grayson Scott Humbert.
He is also survived by his sister, Cristal Hoover, niece Haley Hoover, Aunt Vivian Moskel, and other aunts, uncles, and extended family.
There will be a graveside service at Askey Cemetery in Snow Shoe Township at a later date and will be announced.
