Timothy Monsell Obituary
November 6, 1953 - January 15, 2021
Heber City, Utah - Tim Monsell, 67, passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 at The Lodge in Heber City, Utah.
Tim was born on November 6, 1953 in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. Tim was a 1971 graduate of Bellefonte Area Senior High School. He acquired his bachelor's degree from The Pennsylvania State University. He moved to Utah to obtain his master's degree in education from the Utah State University and never looked back.
Tim was employed in the 80's at the Utah State University as an Associate Director/Media Relations and as an assistant gymnastics coach. Tim then worked as a Vocational Rehab Counselor at Wyoming State Hospital until he retired, February 1, 2016.
Tim had a passion for all things outdoors. He was an avid skier at The Beav, and also enjoyed backpacking, running marathons, and camping. You would also find Tim with his buddy Dakota hiking and biking on the bluff.
Tim loved his furry friends Jason, Shalako, Meisha, and Dakota.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, George Monsell.
Tim is survived by his mother, Kathryn Monsell and his two brothers, Barry and Vernon (Winifred) Monsell of Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his niece Monica (Mike) Musser and daughter Finley, and two nephews Charles (Tiffany) Haldeman and son Samuel, Matthew (Amber) Monsell and daughters Jayla and Riley.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time for friends and family.

The early years of knowing Tim as a one of my Logan Canyon climbing and Beaver Mountain telemark skiing mentors, in addition to a couple stellar trips into the majestic Wind Rivers, are memories I'll always cherish. In the later years after his move to Evanston, WY the connection was limited but would catch up some when crossing paths at the Beav and enjoying a lift ride up and a run with him and the John's. Seeing the 3 Amigos minus Tim was a sad day and the Beav icon will be missed. Cheers to big mountains and white fluffy stuff Tim...

Although I had not seen Tim in many years, I will always remember his great smile and wonderful sense of humor. Tim was an all around great guy. RIP Tim, you will be missed. My sincere sympathy to Tim’s family during this difficult time.

I worked with Tim at the Wyoming State Hospital, he was devoted to the healing and success of his clients and was a fun and funny co-worker. His passing leaves the world less warm and bright.
