William Elwood Fetzer

Wanette, Oklahoma - William "Bill" Elwood Fetzer, 77, passed away on March 26, 2025, in Wanette, Oklahoma.

Born on February 10, 1948, William attended State College Area High School before serving honorably in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968. Following his military service, he began a diverse and dedicated career. He worked at the Corning factory in State College until its closure, then relocated to Denton, Texas, where he worked as a truck driver for a United Van Lines moving company and also served as a security guard. Later, he moved to Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, where he was employed at the Letterkenny Army Depot. Eventually settling in Frisco, Texas, William worked at the North Texas State Hospital and as a security guard until his retirement.

William was a man of many interests. He enjoyed target shooting, riding his motorcycle and horse, and welding pursuits that reflected his hands-on spirit and love of the outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Ripka Fetzer, who passed away on May 22, 2015.

William is remembered by his children Kelly Jo Sexton and Shawn Sexton; Kristopher William Fetzer and Crystal Davis Fetzer; and numerous grandchildren including Mallory Kae Sexton and Anthony Park who are soon expecting William's first great-grandchild, Stephanie Renae Sexton, Erin Nicole Sexton, Daniel Sunday, William Fetzer, Victoria Branch, and Devon Juarez.

He is also remembered by his mother-in-law Peggy Young Ripka Brooks; sister-in-law Nancy Berger; brothers Albert Elton Fetzer (Fay Gilbert Fetzer), Larry David Fetzer (Connie Fetzer), Ivan Doyle Fetzer, Dennis Kaye Fetzer (Chong Suk Fetzer); sisters Deborah Marie Fetzer Moore (James Moore), Charlene Marie Fetzer Harpster (Jeffrey "Bo" Harpster), Carmen Marie Fetzer Taylor (Richard Taylor).

Nieces Sandra Fetzer Murray (Mathew Murray), Robin Fetzer Homan (Wayne Homan), Joanna Fetzer Sutton (Michael Sutton, Andrea Moore Lacki (Michael Lacki), Amy Fetzer Shuman, Carley Confer Sebolt (Lance Sebolt), Tara Rhoads, Rachel Springstead, Nephews Michael Fetzer (Rachel Rieker Fetzer), Mathew Fetzer, Jeremy Fetzer (Cortnie Grno Fetzer), Seth Confer (Belinda Brooks Confer), Dominic Larocca.
