Alice Emery Ladson - Alice Josephine Hawkins Emery, 84, of Ladson, SC, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services will be Tuesday morning, August 9, 2016 in Parks Funeral Home Chapel at 10 o'clock. Family and friends will reassemble for burial at 5 o'clock in Good Shepherd Memorial Park, 4164 Boiling Springs Rd., Boiling Springs, SC 29316. Visitation will be held Monday evening at Parks Funeral Home from 6 until 8 o'clock. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice of Charleston, 4975 LaCross Road, Suite 200, North Charleston, SC 29405. Alice was born July 14, 1932 in Spartanburg, SC, a daughter of the late Joshua William Hawkins and the late Mattie Dover Hawkins. She was the former office manager for Summerville Childcare Center. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her three daughters, Wanda (Larry) Emery Stockton, Donna Emery Moyer, Denise (Ricky) Emery Badillo, all of Summerville; a brother, James Hawkins; two sisters, Mary Hawkins Brady, Thula Hawkins Smalley, all of Spartanburg, SC; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Mack Emery, Jr.; her son, Larry Robert Emery; her loving friend, Arlis Reynolds, Sr.; five brothers and four sisters.
