Robert L. Henderson FOLLY BEACH - Robert Lansing Henderson, 82, of Folly Beach, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 10, 2024. Robert "Bob" Henderson was born December 23, 1941 in Charleston, SC, the son of Ernest Lansing Henderson and Leona Brunson Henderson. He is survived by his wife, Irene Keiper Henderson; his son, Robert "Lance" Henderson II of Folly Beach,SC; daughter, Lisa Denise Henderson of Charleston, SC; stepson, John Neary (Heather); his beloved grandsons, Dylan Lansing Henderson, Asher Neary of Williamston, SC; sister, Phyllis H. LaMacchia; niece, Catherine Garrett (Steve) of Pauline, SC; and nephew, David M Armstrong of New York. Bob was the widower of Carol Weatherford Henderson. Bob graduated from Rivers High School in 1960 and from the Citadel in 1964. While at the Citadel, he was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, The National Political Science Honor Society, and was on the Dean's List. He served as an officer in the U.S. Army, in addition to serving as a Revenue Officer for the U.S. Treasury, Director of Training, and Employee Development at the Naval Base in Charleston. His awards included the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Reserve Service Medal, and the Navy Meritorious Civilian Service Medal. He was a supporter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 445. In the past, Bob was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and Redeemer Lutheran Church, where he served a church council member and adult Sunday School teacher. He attended Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church with Irene. His Funeral Service will be held Wednesday October 16, 20324, at the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., West Ashley Chapel, 3360 Glenn McConnell Pkwy, Charleston, at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
