Waxhaw, North Carolina - Adele Roy Thevaos, 59, of Waxhaw, NC passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021 surrounded by her husband, John, and family following a courageous battle with cancer.
The world lost an incredibly talented, loving, spiritual and creative soul. Adele was so many things that it is impossible to fully capture them all. As a human being she was kind and highly intuitive, attributes that she drew upon as a healer in her massage practice. She was a person of action and embraced new challenges and experiences, always looking for a new project or planning another adventure. Adele was extremely creative and had a special gift for imagining the potential for beauty in things–from overgrown gardens to home renovations and RV interior redesign, her artistic vision resulted in many impressive transformations. She was an avid gardener and hard-core believer in "dirt therapy", creating amazing landscapes not only for herself, but for others. Adele drew energy from nature, loved to be outdoors working with her hands, caring for her animals and camping with her friends.
A Louisiana native, she was true to her Cajun roots being simultaneously feisty, fun-loving and fierce. She had a huge heart for people and animals, and was loving, loyal, and generous to everyone in her world. Adele shared her gifts and love freely, and touched many lives through her work, art, friendship, and generosity. Adele remains with us in spirit and will forever live on through the landscapes she created, the lessons she taught us, and the fond memories that we will never forget.
Adele leaves behind her husband, John; stepson, Theo and his wife, Christina; two grandchildren, JT and Aubrey. She is also survived by her four siblings, Chip, Jacques, David and Camille and many nieces and nephews, a large extended family and many friends.
A Celebration of Life for Adele will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 26, 2021, in the Fr. C Hall at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 600 East Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28203.
