While working with the Boy Scouts, he was recognized with the Award of the Silver Beaver.
Alex retired from a successful career in the steel industry, where he specialized in steel material estimation for commercial buildings. He continued to act as a consultant for that industry until he and his wife of 54 years, Jean, moved to Salisbury.

Dear Jean, Glenn, Rick and Family,

I am very sad to hear of Mr. Garrison's passing and I wanted to send our sympathy and best wishes from the Clark Family to all of you.

I remember Mr. Garrison as a kind and generous person in the Mallard Creek community. He was a great teacher to all of us kids in the Boy Scouts. I still remember his great ghost stories on our Scout camping trips and how he drove the first Ford Mustang coupe in Mallard Creek.

I'll always remember Mr.Garrison for his kindness and the good things he gave to his community.

My God bless and comfort the Garrison Family.

Sincerely,

Jack Clark Jr.

Mr. Garrison was one of finest men I have known. It was an honor and a blessing to have known him. His memory will live for many years through the generations of young men he helped and guilded.
