Annie Hatley Obituary


Annie Sprouse Hatley
Mrs. Hatley, 80, of Charlotte, NC, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at Beverly Health Care in Charlotte. She was born February 13, 1924 in Cherokee County, SC and was the daughter of the late Gertrude Smith and John Sprouse.
Mrs. Hatley was a homemaker and a member of Craig Avenue Tabernacle ARP Church where she served as chairperson of the Women of the Church, and a member of the Women's Circle. She was a member of the Lake Forest Bridge Club, and the tennis team at Idlewild Country Club. As an avid gardener, she was a member of the Lake Forest Garden Club and enjoyed traveling.
Survivors include her husband, Clyde W. Hatley; daughter, Cheryl Hatley of Charlotte, NC; and son, Clyde W. Hatley, Jr. and his wife, Jill, of Mt. Holly, NC. She was preceded in death by a son, William Luther Hatley; two sisters, Martha Creswell and Nellene Whitener; and a brother, James Sprouse.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, May 14, 2004 at Craig Avenue Tabernacle ARP Church, with the Reverend Dr. John Hill officiating. Interment will be in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM at the church.

I was one of Annie's tennis friends

when she was in better health. We

hated to have her stop playing. I

last saw her when she was honored

at Pine Lake CC when our friend

Marcene moved from Mint Hill. I

think she really enjoyed the attention. may she rest in peace.
