Baxter Thomas Obituary
Mr. Thomas died October 4, 2005 at his residence. He was born December 30, 1954 in Atlanta, GA. He graduated from Myers Park High School. Mr. Thomas spent most of his life in the construction industry and was currently attending Cape Fear Community College. He enjoyed playing golf, watching old movies and listening to music.
Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by his father, James Andrew Thomas and sister, Sharon Louise Hobbs. He is survived by his mother, Betty Turner Thomas and brother, David Thomas of Wilmington and half-brothers, Mark and Andy Thomas of Tennessee.
A graveside service for Mr. Thomas will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2005 at Sharon Memorial Park with the Rev. Danny Hawkins officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to American Diabetes Association, 2 Hannover Sq., Raleigh, NC 27601 or Wrightsville Beach Baptist Church, Attn: Bldg. Fund, 601 Causeway, Wilmington, NC 28428.
Harry and Bryant Company is serving the family of Mr. Thomas.

I remember Baxter as a student in my fourth grade class at Eastover Elementary School. I remember his keen inteligence, his zest for life and his unfailing ability to "hook" me, a first year teacher. I was saddened to read of his death and wish for his family a sense of closure and peace. He was a wonderful little boy and, I expect, a fine adult. Louise Milford Singleton
