Bernard Abrams Obituary

Mr. Bernard L. "Bud" Abrams, 70, of Charlotte, NC, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at his home after a valiant bout with cancer.
Born November 19, 1931, Bud was the only son of the late K. I. and Hannah Abrams. Bud began his own general contracting business, Abrams and Associates, in the late 1960's which continued in existence until 2001. The many individuals he met and dealt with throughout these years will remember him with great affection. His gruffness and sarcasm were recognized by all as kindness and concern. This old curmudgeon was truly the best friend anyone could hope for. We will not forget our generous grouch.
A memorial service will be held 2 PM Thursday, March 21, 2002 in the Harry and Bryant Chapel, 500 Providence Road, Charlotte, with Loyd C. Dillon officiating. Following the service a reception will be held at the Abrams' home.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Susie; a daughter, Elizabeth Martin and her husband, Scott; and a remaining sister, Janette (Mrs. Alfred) Cohen, residing in Pompano Beach, FL. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bernice (Mrs. Ted) Silber, of Charlotte and Frances Abrams of New York City.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 1428-B Orchard Lake Drive, Charlotte, NC 28270 or to The Salvation Army, PO Box 31128, Charlotte, NC 28231.
Harry and Bryant Company is serving his family.

I will miss Uncle Buddy. He had a great sense of humor and wonderful perspective. He was always so kind to me. I am lucky to have known him.

Mrs.Abrams,sorry to hear about Bud.

He was such a wonderful person and

friend. I can remember all the good

times we had at Stoney Lackey's

office. He will truly be missed by

many of his friends. Now he and

Stoney can be together. God bless

you and your family. Our prayers

are with you. Dear friend, Bobby

I will really miss Buddy and his wonderful laugh and his lust for life. I think of wine and cigars and especially Buddy with a hankerchief on his head to escape the Key West sun. He was so cute, in fact, that Shel Silverstein sketched a picture of him that day. He was always kind to me and always had a hug for me and I can't believe he's gone.
