Betty Jubb Obituary

Betty Barnhardt Jubb
Mrs. Jubb, 81, of Hampton, NH, formerly of Charlotte, NC, died Saturday, May 30, 2009 at her home in Hampton, of lung cancer. She was the widow of the late James Norman Jubb of Hampton, who died in 1993.
Born on September 23, 1927 in Charlotte, she was the daughter of the late Thomas M. Barnhardt, Jr. and Ernestine Lucas Barnhardt. She attended Charlotte schools and graduated in 1949 from Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg, VA. She married Mr. Jubb in Charlotte in 1956, and they moved to San Carlos, CA where they had a son in 1957. Following a move to Hartsdale, NY, they had a daughter in 1961.
Finally the Jubb family moved to Hampton in 1964 where Mrs. Jubb lived for the past 45 years. She did volunteer work in the Hampton schools and at Trinity Episcopal Church for many years, and was a Realtor Associate with Yankee Trader Realtors before her retirement. She was also a member of Seacoast Art Association, Seacoast Realtors and Phi Beta Kappa. Her hobbies were reading, painting, movies, gardening, working out, and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her calm and caring disposition, positive spirit, sense of humor, and the southern accent that she never lost.
She is survived by her son, James Thomas Jubb and his wife Margaret of North Hampton, her daughter, Julia Jubb Iuretig and her husband Maurizio of Scarborough, ME; her granddaughters, Lindsay Anne Jubb and Jaime Elizabeth Jubb; her grandsons, Anthony Celio Iuretig and Peter James Iuretig; her two brothers, Thomas M. The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Exeter Hospital, Home Instead Senior Care, Seacoast Visiting Nurses Association, Seacoast Hospice and the team of LNA's who cared for Mrs. Jubb in her home. They also would like to recognize and thank the multiple neighbors and friends who offered their support for the last several years.

To all of Betty's family, this is Kelley McKenzie's sister, Chris. I would like to convey our sincere sympathy. The last time I saw Betty was at my sister Kelley's farm in New Durham, she was vibrant and looked wonderful!! I will always remember her that way, laughing and joking with me and my grandchildren. Though I did not get to see her often, she will always be in my heart. Chris McKenzie

To all in Betty's family,
What a joy it was to go to Betty's house and see her smiling face. She always had a kind word for me, a chuckle or two and of course a hug before I left. I was her gardener for 5 years. She loved her gardens and flowers. As we walked around to discuss what needed to be done she would share her pride of her children and grandchildren. I never did see her without a smile nor did her possitive attitude on life ever dwindle. I will miss that wonderful sweet southern accent when she would say....bye.(baah)
