She also won the Distinguished Award from the national group and held a variety of offices and won numerous other awards from both the state and national groups.
After retiring, she enjoyed traveling, gardening -- especially with her friends in the Union County Master Gardeners -- and playing with her old-farm shepherd, Molly.
Survivors include her husband, William B. Muldrow of the home; three sons, Jim Muldrow and wife Cheryl of Monroe; Charles Muldrow and wife Jody of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Jeff Muldrow and wife Leslie of Lenoir City, Tenn.; and two grandsons, Blake Muldrow and Camden Muldrow, both of Mount Pleasant, S.C.

Jim and Cheryl, my thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort. Cheryl, I didn't personally know Jim's mother, but many times I heard your mother speak so well of Mrs. Muldrow, her gardening talent and the enjoyable family gatherings at your and Jim's home.

To the Muldrow Family,

I am sorry that I did not have an opportunity to attend the services for Betty. We were out of town and Elaine Newell called to let us know of Betty's passing. She was a wonderful friend and will be greatly missed by her Master Gardener friends. Her kindness, her spunky spirit, and her limitless knowledge enriched the lives of so many. My garden is filled with the many plants that Betty gave to me. She will not be forgotten.

Betty was a delight to work with in the Master Gardener program. She had a wealth of knowledge that she was willing to share...anytime. When I 1st met Betty little did I suspect behind that unassuming appearance...lurked a dynamo. I have enjoyed knowing Betty.

My deepest sympathies to Betty's family. She was a wonderful, energetic lady who will be greatly missed. She gave me some trees that are now planted in the memorial garden at South Providence school in Waxhaw. I watered and coddled them during the drought and they survived probably due to the care she gave them while they were young. The garden is for a teacher that was killed in a 485 wrong way accident several yrs ago and a student w/heart transplant who died from complications in a classroom. Now I will remember Betty also in my memorial garden there. Blessings to you all and comfort knowing she is better now w/no more pain. Master Gardener, Sandra Vinton
