May 21, 1939 - September 7, 2021
Charlotte, North Carolina - Mrs. Betty Lou Granger Myers, 82, of Charlotte, NC, born May 21, 1939 and entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.
Betty grew up in the Charlotte area and graduated from J.H. Gunn/Clear Creek High School. She was a loving mother to her two daughters and a supportive presence to many others, including the work she did with the Mecklenburg County Foster Care Program.
Betty was a long-time faithful member of New Hampton Presbyterian Church where she dedicated her time, energy and resources to the church until her health declined. In addition to her commitment to the church, Betty lived a very fulfilled life of dabbling in antiques, auto mechanics and various forms of crafting (ceramics, upholstery, wreath making). Some of you may be recipients of her great gifts.
Betty was preceded in death by husbands, Robert Stitt and Jasper Myers; brother, Charles Granger and sister-in-law, Maxine Stanley Granger.
Betty is survived by her daughters Arlene Stitt of Charlotte, NC and Tangee Stitt Carpenter and husband Rickey of Randallstown, MD; sister, Vivian Granger of Decatur, GA; grandsons, Marius Hood (Charlotte, NC), Malique Carpenter (Dallas, TX), Zakiah Carpenter (Randallstown, MD); great-grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Grier Memorial Chapel, 115 John McCarroll Ave. Visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Monday, September 13, 2021.
