Carolyn Modrell Obituary

Charlotte, North Carolina - Carolyn Roberts Modrell was a caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world suddenly on August 9, 2022 at age 77.
She was born to Victor and Jewel Roberts on December 7, 1944. After graduating from high school, Carolyn went to UNC-Greensboro to begin her lifelong passion of teaching. She taught for 34 years in Mecklenburg County and later at her home, Vance County. Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Melissa; grandchildren, Aurek and Lena; and six brothers and sisters.
No funeral service is being held. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the SOE Higher Education Program Enrichment Fund at https://advancement.uncg.edu/giving/ in memory of Carolyn Modrell and her love of teaching.

At the original Sharon Elementary School, Carolyn was my third grade teacher when she was still Miss Roberts, (just before she married). She was a wonderful teacher. She taught us very well. May you always remember her warmly.
