Carolyn Robbins Obituary

Carolyn B. Robbins CORNELIUS - Carolyn Barnette Robbins, 78, of Church St., Cornelius, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2013, at Presbyterian Hospital, Huntersville. Born January 2, 1935, in Mooresville, she was a daughter of the late Charles Graham and Ida Eugene Torrence Barnette. Mrs. Robbins was retired from Foamex, Cornelius, where she worked in the Payroll Department. She was a member of Cornelius Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Robbins was a puzzle whiz, attended many, many baseball games, cheerleading competitions and motocross races. She was preceded in death by brothers, Dwight Torrence and Charles Barnette, Jr., and sister, Mary Taylor Howard. She is survived by her husband, Dwight "Jay-Bird" C. Robbins, Sr.; children, Dwight C. "Dump" Robbins, Jr. and friend, Adie, of Huntersville, Edna "Edie" R. Johnson and husband, Junior, of Mooresville, and Mark B. Robbins and wife, Kim, of Huntersville; brothers, Richard "Dick" Barnette and Dennis "Tom" Barnette; sisters, Dorothy Caldwell, Lib Ammons and Wilma Plyler; grandchildren, Jeremy Johnson and wife, Megan and their son, Peyton, Noah Johnson and wife, LeAnne, Whitney and Cody Robbins and Josh Hedgecoe; and her faithful companion, Tinkerbell. A graveside service will be held at 3 PM, Monday, April 1, 2013, at Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery, with Rev. J. E. "Didi" Wayland, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 3 PM, prior to the service at the cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cornelius Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 279, Cornelius, NC 28031. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, is serving the family of Mrs. Robbins. Condolences may be made to the Robbins family at www.cavin-cook.com.
