Carrie Sain Obituary
Mrs. Sain and her husband operated a general store, recapping shop and Goodyear dealership at the intersections of Highways 18 and 10 in Vale, for 48 years prior to their retirement in 1981. She was the oldest member of Laurel Hill United Methodist Church and a life member of Fallston Order of the Eastern Star #282.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Ted Brittain of Shelby; a granddaughter, Sherry Hunt of Morganton; two step-granddaughters, Melanie Hamrick and Cathy Smith and husband, Gene, all of Shelby; two great-grandsons, Jay "Trey' Ross, III and Derek Ross; and three step great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Stamey Funeral Home in Fallston on Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at 3:00 PM with Reverend William H. Pheagin, a family friend, officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fallston. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 18, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Memorials may be made to Laurel Hill United Methodist Church, c/o Nelson Yarbro, 8364 W. NC 27 Highway, Vale, NC 28168 or to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
Stamey Funeral Home is in charge.
