Cornelius, North Carolina - Charles E. Knox, 84, of Cornelius died April 17, 2021. He was born on September 19, 1936 in Mecklenburg County to the late Melvin and Annie Kate Knox. He served in the U.S. Army and worked as a food broker with Allegiance Food Broker. He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Gayle M. Knox; daughter, Melanie Wallace (Blaine) and Lorri Hannon (Rick); grandchildren, Trae Wallace (Bethany), Logan Talmadge (Josh) and Andrew Wallace (Ashley); great-grandchildren, Alex Hearn, Dani Hearn, Charlie Wallace, Brecken Talmadge, and Drew Wallace.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Presbyterian Church, Cemetery Fund.
The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, April 21 at James Funeral Home with burial following at Bethel Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be 10-11 AM prior at the funeral home. Rev. John Hill will officiate the service.
