Clifford Bullard Obituary

LUMBERTON -- Mr. Clifford E. Bullard, Sr., 72, of 510 Brookgreen Drive, died Saturday, May 17, 2003 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, SC. He was born in Robeson County, NC, on December 5, 1930, and was the son of the late Leslie Jackson and Lyda Crawford Bullard.
Mr. Bullard was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lumberton, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict as a Screaming Eagle. Mr. Bullard was the founder of Bullard Restaurants, Inc. and Cliffwood Golf Course. He was the Mayor of Lumberton for four years, and a member of the Lumberton City Council for 6 years. Mr. Bullard was a former member of the Board of Directors of Southern National Bank and the Robeson Saving and Loan Association. He was a Trustee for Robeson Community College.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rebecca Beachum Bullard of the home; two sons, Clifford E. Bullard, Jr. and wife Rita W. of Raleigh, NC, and Andrew P. Bullard and wife, Tina A. of Lumberton, NC; two sisters, Mrs. Lesley Hall and Mrs. Jean Noble, both of Lumberton, NC; a step-daughter, Crystal Ann Thomas of of Charlotte, NC; and six grandchildren, Jessica Leigh Bullard, Kyle McKenzie Bullard, Kevin Harris Bullard, Matthew Trevor Bullard, Lindsey Alexander Bullard and Andrew Pitman Bullard, II.
Funeral service and burial, conducted by Rev. Dr. Kevin R. Head and Dr. Russell T. Cherry, Jr. were held in Lumberton.
Biggs Funeral Home served the Bullard Family.
