Cynthia Diane Carlton
Mrs. Cynthia Diane Carlton was born November 12, 1956. Mrs. Carlton departed to be with the Lord Sunday, March 18, 2012, at 4:15pm.
Mrs. Carlton was a native of W-S, NC, a graduate of East Forsyth High School and Shaw University where she received her BA in Criminal Justice, and an employee of the State of NC as a youth counselor at Stonewall Jackson Detention Center, Concord, NC.
She was preceded in death by her father, Linwood Baker; and one sister.
She was married to Bishop Steve L. Carlton, Sr., as a faithful wife of thirty-five years and devoted mother of two children, Steve L. Carlton, Jr. and Tiffany Carlton all of Charlotte, NC; the joy of her life, her granddaughter, Heaven Salter; her mother and best friend, Lula Mae Baker; four sisters; two brothers; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, March 24, 2012, at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor James E. Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Church.
