Daniel Joseph Balls "Danny" CHARLOTTE - Daniel "Danny" Joseph Balls, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 27, 2015. Danny was born on January 31, 1953 in Charlotte and was the son of the late Daniel T. and Rita C. Balls. He was a graduate of Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, Maryland and received his associate's degree from Central Piedmont Community College. Danny worked for Northern Tool & Equipment as warehouse manager for many years. For the past thirteen years he was employed by HomeTeam Pest Management Services where he was the honored recipient of numerous employee-of-the-month awards for outstanding customer service. He loved reading, playing golf, fly fishing, hiking, camping and all holidays. Danny will be remembered for his love of life, caring and generous approach toward others, adventurous nature and an affable demeanor. He will be greatly missed by family and friends alike. Danny was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carroll Champlin. He is survived by the love of his life and childhood sweetheart, Ellen Ingolia of Charlotte, his brother, John (Jack) Balls and his wife, Greta of Charlotte, his brother-in-law John Champlin of Supply, NC, two nephews, John Michael Champlin of Raleigh, NC, and Thomas Champlin of Woodlands, Texas and many great-nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care-Charlotte Region. A service will take place Friday, May 1, 2015, at 10 AM at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, 3016 Providence Rd., Charlotte, NC. Online condolences may be sent to www.carolinafuneral.com.
