David Brenizer Obituary

David Ewing Brenizer WALPOLE, MA - David Ewing Brenizer, 69, passed away on July 7, 2016 in Walpole, MA, due to complications from pulmonary fibrosis. "Boomer" was a long-time Charlotte resident, attending Eastover Elementary School and AG Junior High. He graduated from The McCallie School in Chattanooga, TN and attended St. Andrews College. His mother, Meredith Marshall (Pepsy) Brenizer was President of the Charlotte Junior League and later lived in Concord, MA and Nantucket Island. His father, Addison G. Brenizer, Jr. was a well-respected surgeon in Charlotte. After apprenticing with a photographer in Atlanta in the 1970s, David established his business, David Brenizer Photography, in the Dilworth area of Charlotte. He was a cornerstone of the Charlotte advertising business in the 80s and 90s, but his true passion was art and lighting, focusing on the landscapes of Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, and the Low Country of the Carolina coast, two of his favorite places to visit. Many of us have these prints hanging on our walls, eliciting fond memories of our own visits and vacations, as well as the man who took the photo. David himself said that he lived a full life, with "nothing to do that I haven't done, nothing material to want that I haven't had, and surrounded by more loving family and friends than should be allowed." His memories are those of the joy, adventure, and mischief in the heart that make life worth living. David is survived by his two sons, Marshall and Logan, and their families, including five grandchildren, who were the joy of his life in the last few years. A memorial service will be held in Charlotte in the near future to bring together his family and friends and those that wish to share a story of adventure with Boomer. He is loved, missed, and our memory will sustain the light that his passing cannot extinguish.

I worked with David for eight years at Exit Realty. He donated a picture of his that hung in my office that I loved to see every morning I walked in. I believe it was called "Mount Pleasant harbor". Our whole office was decorated with other pieces of his that were beautiful scenes of boats and ocean scenes. He was a wonderful, caring soul that brought sunshine to me so many times with the way he shared his art, his stories and himself. I loved watching him and Mike Rash together - true friends with a long delightful history between them! He will be missed. Please let me know when you hold his memorial here.
