Very sorry to hear, we will continue to keep the Fumo family in our thoughts and prayers, I didn't know a lot about Don but I knew his family and they were all awesome, I do know that I was at a wedding once and had a little too much to drink and he went out of his way to take my car and I home, to make sure we got there safely and I will never forget how kind and generous that was of him and I also remember his great smile.

I never had Mr. Fumo as a teacher, but he tutored me for calculus, and i give him all the credit for me passing that AP class. He was always willing to help and was very patient with me (math is not my subject at all) Even though I have not seen him in over five years he left a lasting impression on me. I want his family to know that he was a wonderful person who really did a make a difference in his students lives. He was a great asset to East Meck and he will be remembered. I am so sorry for your loss.

Our deepest, heartfelt sympathy goes out to your family. My son, Matt, had Mr. Fumo for 2 years in IB Math Studies and loved his class. Mr. Fumo even wrote letters of recommendation for my son to go to the Air Force Academy (2009). He was a wonderful teacher and worked so well with his students, parents and colleagues. He spent extra time with me during Open House at East Meck. He was a great teacher ! He touched many people and our family grieves with you for this tragic, sudden loss. It hurts to lose such a spirited teacher with Math Wisdom! Our hearts are with you.

I would run into Don quite frequently in the copy room at East Meck. He would always make fun of me for "hogging" the copier. But he was always there to help me if the darn thing acted up. I never met his family, but I know he was a loving father. A few times when I had to proctor a test in his classroom, I noticed the pictures of his kids proudly displayed. We both started at East at about the same time. I still feel like I should see him in the hall or hear his voice. He is really going to be missed.
