Donald Furr Obituary
November 8, 1953 - January 19, 2022
Charlotte, North Carolina - Donald Blake Furr, 68, Matthews, NC, passed peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of 1/19/2022.
Donnie was born on November 8, 1953 to Lester Able Furr and Ardenia Blake Benton Furr. He was the youngest of twelve children.
After attending Garinger High School, he founded Furr Plumbing Company. He married Sherry Deese on August 11, 1972. After their 18 year marriage ended, he met and later married Terry Healy. Donnie was unendingly proud of his boys: Adam, Zack, Noah, Sean & Kevin.
While Donnie's plumbing career spanned 50 years, he could often be found tinkering on an automobile or recently acquired boat or motorcycle. When not working on a project, he could be found stretching or working on his techniques and forms that were learned as a black belt in Isshinryu karate.
Anyone that knew Donnie knew that he enjoyed the beach. But more importantly, he enjoyed being present for his children's and grandchildren's activities. He never had to make time for you, he was happy to be there.
Donnie was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Dodie, Arthur, Diane, Steve, Janet, Peggy and Mike. He is survived by Terry Healy; his sons, Zachary, Noah, Sean and Kevin; grandchildren Lylah, Relena, Beau, Freeman and Gemma; his siblings Rick Furr, Ronnie Furr, Tim Furr, and Judy Mills and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be a Celebration of Life on January 31, 2022, at 11:00am at Southbrook Church in Weddington, NC.

I will miss you uncle Donnie. We were closer in age than my other Furr uncles. You were the uncle I talked to the most. Thank you for helping me when I was down. I love you. I'll see you in heaven my dear uncle.

I am so sorry uncle Donnie has passed. Many fond memories from my childhood included him. He was always so nice to us kidd. And fun to be around.
