Edward Osborne

Edward J. Osborne MINT HILL - Edward J. Osborne, 71, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2013. He was born June 3, 1942 in Charlotte, NC. He was the son of the late JB Osborne and Evelyn Dulin Osborne. Ed is survived by his three children, Jeffrey Osborne (Pam) of Gastonia; Mark Osborne (Jamie) of Charlotte and Lori Osborne of Charlotte. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Jamie Lancaster, Matthew Osborne, Megan Osborne, Covina MacLaren and Alexis Osborne and seven great-grandchildren. Ed is also survived by seven brothers and sisters: Bobby Osborne (Barbara), Helen Hagler (Ernest), Carol Johnson, Wayne Osborne (Barbara), Dave Osborne, Wanda Kinkade (Ken) and Larry Osborne. Ed graduated from East Mecklenburg High school and Gardner Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC. Ed attended Southeastern Theological Seminary. Ed was an avid reader and never met a stranger. He studied the bible and led bible study at his residence in the retirement apartments at The Brian Center. He was a longtime friend of Bill W. His true love and focus was his children and grandchildren. Ed will always be remembered for his loving spirit, quick wit and sense of humor. A celebration of Ed's life will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, November 15, 2013 at McEwen Funeral Home - Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews Mint Hill Rd., Charlotte, NC 28227 with visitation to follow.
