Eula Belle Faulkner Caudle

Eula Caudle Obituary

Eula Belle Faulkner Caudle
PEACHLAND -- Mrs. Caudle of Peachland, passed away November 22, 2008, at the age of 95. She was born July 17, 1913, to M. George and Emma Austin Faulkner in Florence, SC. On September 10, 1932, she married William Ashe Caudle.
A lifelong member of Peachland Baptist Church, Eula Belle served as WMU president and taught Sunday School in the Children's Department. She was a retired teacher's aide with the Anson County School System. Many children's lives were touched by her smiles and encouragement.
She enjoyed painting, arranging flowers, and sharing with people. Folks who knew her best would say she was quick with a smile, quick with her wit, quick to be generous, and incredibly talented. Eula Belle and Ashe liked to travel, and visited Mexico, Canada, and several states. One of her most favorite places was Garden City Beach, SC. Her grandchildren cherish many happy memories of days spent with 'Pop and Belle' at the beach. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ashe Caudle, and her son, Dr. William Ashley Caudle of Charlotte, NC. Also preceding her were her sisters Elizabeth Harrington, Margaret Allen, Georgia Kemp, and her brothers Robert Faulkner and Austin Faulkner.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Annette and C. Haskell Tarlton of Peachland, and her daughter-in-law, Suzanne G. Caudle of Charlotte. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Anita Tarlton Waters and husband David Waters of Peachland; Rebecca Tarlton Wall and husband Gene Wall of Norwood, NC; Dr. Abigail Caudle of Houston Texas, Emily Caudle of Charleston, SC, Amy Caudle of Raleigh, NC, and Ashley Caudle of Charlotte. Her great-grandchildren include Amanda, Melody, and Andrew Sikes, and Brett Barry, all of Peachland, as well as Tommy and Anne Marie Wall of Norwood, NC.
She also is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Eva and Hiram McCullough of Hamlet, NC, sisters-in-law Rachel Faulkner and Virgie Faulkner, both of Peachland, and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her caretakers and special friends, Mrs. Betty Stegall and Mrs. Judy Evans. Because of the loving care you two ladies provided, Eula Belle was able to stay in the home she loved until her last week.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Caudle will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at Peachland Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Allen and Rev. Charles Cauthen officiating. Interment will follow in Peachland Cemetery.
The family will greet friends tonight (Monday, November 24, 2008) from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Leavitt Funeral Home in Wadesboro.
Memorials for Eula Belle Caudle may be given to NC Baptist Men's Agricultural Ministry, PO Box 1107, Cary, NC 27512 or to Peachland Baptist Church, PO Box 46, Peachland, NC 28133.
The arrangements are in care of Leavitt Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.leavittfuneralhomewadesboro.com.

No one other than my parents and siblings played a larger role in my early childhood than Eula Belle Caudle, and I know my experience was not unique. Her volunteering at Peachland Baptist Church provided an exemplary role model for hundreds of children. I am deeply saddened at her passing, but I know her influence and her uncounted acts of kindness and generosity will never be forgotten. She has earned her rest.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of Mrs. Caudle. She has helped shape the lives of many of my generation as a leader in our spiritual development. During their lifetime, she and Mr. Ashe supported more families in need, both emotionally and monetarily than any one will ever know. While it is a sad time for all of us that remain behind, she is in the arms of our Lord and is reunited with her love ones that have preceded her.
