Geoffrey Camille Jordan Schott
November 24, 1921 - September 10, 2021
Charlotte, North Carolina - Geoffrey Camille Jordan Schott passed away quietly at home on September 10, 2021. Born Thanksgiving Day, she grew up in and with the city of Charlotte. She graduated from Central High School (1939) and Queens University (1963).
Honored as a high school beauty, she was a Raleigh debutant, attended Smith College, and married her childhood sweetheart. Geoffrey gardened and danced, sang with the Choral Society, volunteered with Family & Children's Services, enjoyed painting, served as corporate secretary for family owned Operating & Maintenance Specialties. She belonged to l'Histoire Book Club, First Methodist, Saint Paul and later Myers Park United Methodist Church. Slowly progressive dementia deprived her of many things but not her gentle, loving spirit. Her 19 years at Sharon Towers were enriched by life long friends and excellent caregivers.
Family was the focus of her life. She was predeceased by her parents, J. Robert and Ruth Lineberger Jordan; brother, John Robert "Jake" Jordan; and her husband, John Evans Schott.
Geoffrey is survived by her daughter, Geoffrey Ruth Schott; two nephews, Lee Robert Jordan (Elizabeth) of Atlanta and George Evans Williams (Sylvia) of Charlotte; great nieces and nephews, Alison Daughtry (Tim & their son Parker) of Atlanta, Amanda Garcia (Michael) of Denver, Jake Jordan of Atlanta, George McKinney Williams of Charlotte and his twin Sarah Evans Williams of Morehead City.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Evergreen Cemetery, 4426 Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC. A reception will be held at noon at McEwen Myers Park, 500 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC.
"Are you sure we thanked everybody?" Please know that Geoffrey Schott was grateful for every gift, every visit, every helping hand, every act of kindness. God bless you all.
