Grace Jacquart Obituary

Grace Elizabeth Jacquart
Mrs. Jacquart, 95, of Charlotte, formerly of Pittsburgh, PA, Barrington, RI, and DeLand, FL, passed away quietly on September 26, 2007 at Mecklenburg Health Care in Charlotte. Grace was a funny, brilliant, and vivacious wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In her early years in Pittsburgh, she exhibited a precocious desire to drive, got her license on her sixteenth birthday and, along with her brother, proceeded to drive the family's first car - with the entire family in it - on long sojourns to far away parts of the country. She loved to swim - even braving the cold and contaminated waters of the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers to get in a few good laps and float for a while. She played tennis, rode horses and motorcycles and even went for a spin in a biplane.
A top student, she graduated from high school before the age of 16 and proceeded to build a young career at Commercial Credit Corporation as a loan administrator. When she married at 26, she settled down to raise 3 children and, in her later years, traveled the world, covering the US, Canada, Europe, Central and Latin America, and Ireland.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Herman F. Jacquart, and is survived by her 3 children - Herman D. Jacquart of Dallas, TX, Jeffrey P. Jacquart of Barrington, RI, and Denise Jacquart Arnette of Charlotte, their spouses, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 29th at 7 pm at McEwen Funeral Service, Pineville Chapel..

My mother,Celeste Lawton was Miss Grace's room mate for six months. We will miss her. My favorite memory is laughing with Miss Grace when we blessed our bingo cards with the sign of the cross for good luck!

I saw you getting tired and you drifted away from me. God closed his arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me."

I saw you getting anxious, and so he gave you rest, God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best.

And when I saw you sleeping, so peaceful and free from pain, I could not wish you back to go through it all again.

My sympathy to all family and friends.
