Matthews, North Carolina - Jaclyn Poorman Knight, age 68, of Indian Trail, NC peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior December 12, 2023. Jackie was born in Furth, Germany on February 9TH, 1955. She was preceded in death by her father, John A. Poorman, and Mother Ethlyn K. Poorman. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 50 years, Ronald W. Knight and sister Judy Emmert, children, Crystie McCutchan (Shawn), and sons Brandon Knight and Sean Knight. In addition to her children, those left to continue her wonderful legacy include her six (6) grandchildren who she adored immensely, Caleb & Hailey Knight (Leslie), Caitlyn, Jon, Jacob and Jackson McCutchan. She was also survived by Five (5) nieces and two (2) Sister-in-Laws.
Jackie was a loving and devoted wife who valued her family tremendously. Early in Tucson, Arizona she fell in love with the game of golf where she went on to become a very decorated avid golfer having participated in Junior World Championships, and later, she passed her knowledge off to others as a trainer in the sport. Jackie worked at BB&T and later retired with Harris Teeter, and during this time met many lifelong friends who Jackie valued so much.
Around the holidays you would find her baking, enjoying all the festive gift wrapping, and settling in to watch her favorite Christmas movies. She loved Christmas, and she always made sure to share in the spirit with all her loved ones. Jackie was multi-talented, with cooking and decorating being her favorites. Because of her faith and relationship with Christ, she was always willing to offer spiritual advice and scripture for any situation or challenge one may be facing. The most fitting scripture to encapsulate Jackie is Matthew 22:36-40.
A visitation will begin at 5pm, Sunday December 17th, at Tribute & Tallent Funerals & Cremations, 1937 North Sharon Amity Road, Charlotte, NC 28205. Following the visitation, a celebration of life service with pastor Darren Adams, officiating, will begin at 6 pm in the Chapel.
The family would like to especially thank the nurses and staff of Agape Hospice care for the love and care shown, this agency was nothing short of amazing during this otherwise difficult time.
