James Beasley Obituary

James Walter Beasley, Jr.
NORTH WILKESBORO -- Mr. Beasley, age 74, of Trogdon Street, North Wilkesboro died Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Wilkes Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 at Reins-Sturdivant Chapel with the Rev. Sherrill Wellborn officiating. Burial with military rites by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142 will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Beasley was born in Forsyth County, December 28, 1930, to James Walter Beasley, Sr. and Mary Motsinger Beasley. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Wilkesboro. Mr. Beasley retired from the US Army after 21 years of service.
Mr. Beasley was the chairman of the Memorial Avenue Tree Committee, Communities in Schools Lunch Buddy, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1142, a volunteer at Wilkes Regional Medical Center, and a chairman of the neighborhood watch.
Mr. Beasley is survived by his wife, Jean Summers Beasley of the home; three daughters and grandchildren, Billie Maynard of Davidson, Teana Compeau and son, Phillip E. C. Compeau, III both of Wilkesboro, Jamie Mowery and her children, Samantha, Sara Ann, Benjamin Mowery all of Monroe; his mother, Mary Motsinger Beasley of Winston Salem.
The family will receive at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home from 6:00 until 7:30 Monday night.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Memorial Avenue Tree Fund, 801 Main Street, PO Box 218, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659.
