Jane McCurry Obituary

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Jane Davenport McCurry, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Jane is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of nearly 63 years, Gene McCurry. Together, they built a life filled with love. A compassionate and dedicated nurse (RN/BSN), Jane spent her career caring for others at Charlotte Memorial Hospital (CMC/Atrium), where her unwavering commitment touched countless lives.

Though nursing was her passion, Jane's greatest joy came from being surrounded by her family. She was the proud mother of three children- Rene, Mark, and Chad-and the beloved grandmother to seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Her face would light up when surrounded by family.

Jane's heart was forever changed by the loss of her son Chad in 2020, and we take comfort in the belief that he was waiting to welcome her into Heaven. In her later years, Jane faced Alzheimer's disease with remarkable grace.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions could be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause close to her heart. She loved the flowers Gene brought her every week, but the health of children was something she would be proud to support in her memory.

Her presence will be missed, but her memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
