Jerry Watts Obituary
BELMONT -- Mr. Watts, age 58, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2010 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. He was born on July 1, 1952 in Las Vegas, NV, son of Ann Dudney Watts and the late Frank Watts.
Jerry was a loving husband, dad, and grandfather who had served proudly in the U.S. Navy. He had a special place in his heart for the children of Cramerton Christian School, the Gastonia Police Department and the Renegade PIGS Motorcycle Club.
He enjoyed pretty much everything with horsepower; drag racing, monster trucks, NASCAR and classic cars. He never had an enemy and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine McCall Watts, son, Michael Watts of Belmont, daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Clay VanDyke of Gastonia, mother, Ann Dudney Watts, brother, Fred Watts (Cindy) of Belmont, sister, Patsy Tennent (David) of Lake Wylie, one granddaughter, Emma Grace VanDyke and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Madison Grace VanDyke.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, October 18, 2010 at Bethesda United Methodist Church, Gastonia. Revs. Elise B. Kennedy and Jeff Hathcock will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2:45 PM prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will be private to the family at a later date.
The family would like to thank the nurses of the 300 hall at Brian Center, Gastonia, the nurses and staff of the 4th floor CCU and the Hospice nurses of 3 South at Gaston Memorial Hospital, as well as a special thanks to Kelli Donaldson for her loving care and attention.
