John Bechtold Obituary

John A. Bechtold CHARLOTTE - Mr. Bechtold, 73, of Amissville, VA, passed away on November 17, 2012 in Miami, FL. He was born on July 2, 1939 in Charlotte, NC, a son of the late Albert Leopold Bechtold and Martha Bradley Bechtold. He is survived by his children: Marta Bechtold of NYC, Albert Bechtold of VA and his brother- Philip Bechtold of Charlotte, and his family. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at the Trinity Episcopal Church, Washington, VA. Rev. Jennings Hobson officiated and the Beulah Baptist Church Choir sang. Internment followed at St. Paul's Cemetery, Woodville, VA. John was a very talented advertising photographer in NYC and Virginia for over 30 years. He learned his craft well at Art Center School in Los Angeles. He plied his trade in NYC and became a real factor in the field of advertising. He shot for many food magazines such as: Gourmet, Food and Wine, Cuisine, and others. Some of his advertising clients were: IBM, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Kraft, Hardee's, Dunkin' Doughnuts, Burger King, American Express, USPS, Jack Daniels, Absolut, and many wine companies. He enjoyed real success in his chosen field of work that not many people were privileged to enjoy. John had many great characteristics and friends. He will be missed by all.
