John Glenn Obituary
Mr. Glenn, 88, of Charlotte, NC, went to be with The Lord, Friday, July 1, 2005. He was born in Greenville, SC on January 11, 1917 to the late Arthur and Julia Glenn and was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Gomillion Glenn, sons, Richard and Bryan Keith Glenn and daughter, Shelia Glenn White.
He obtained his education in the public school system of Charlotte.
John was dearly loved by all those who knew him. He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving children, sons, John L. Jr. (Cynthia), Paul (Carol) of Charlotte, NC, and Otis (Beverly) of Baltimore, MD, daughters, Carol Thompson (Jimmy) , Brenda Gunn (Henry), Vanessa Thompson (William) all of Charlotte, NC, Roslyn Snyder (Charles) of Eglin Air Force Base in FL, and Lorraine Booker of Rock Hill, SC; brother, Robert Glenn and sister, Doris Maxwell of Charlotte, NC, twenty-one grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral is 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 5 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Charlotte. Visitation is 12 noon July 5 at the church.
Alexander Funeral Home is serving the family.
