John Robert Ingle CHARLOTTE - "Now cracks a noble heart." John Robert Ingle, 85, of Charlotte, North Carolina died Monday, February 12, 2018, at his home. John was born February 13, 1932, in Silk Hope, North Carolina, to the late Joseph Burton Ingle and Lillie Clark Ingle. He graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After a two-year stint in the United States Air Force, John completed his Juris Doctor at The Univer-sity of North Carolina School of Law. John was awarded a one-year fellowship to work with the Honorable Senator Samuel Ervin, Jr. in Washington, D.C. In 1960, John came to Charlotte where he joined the law firm of Craighill, Rendleman, Ingle, & Blythe. He practiced law until he retired in 1994. Active in local politics, John was Chairman of the Mecklenburg County Democratic Party for more than two years. He was a former member of the Charlotte Civitan Club and a member of Myers Park Country Club for 47 years. John loved Shakespeare, golf, and Tar Heel basketball and football. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brothers, George Ingle, Benjamin Ingle, and Joe Clark Ingle; sisters Mozelle Butler, Eunice Baulding, and Alma Ruth Councilman; and sister-in-law Lucy Ingle. John is survived by his wife, Annette Morrell Ingle, stepdaughter Amy Tierney, her husband Jo-seph, and their children, Michael and Daniel; and stepdaughter Jill Powell, her husband Derek, and their children, Logan and Olivia; nieces Rosemary Waldorf, Ann Crumpler and Beth Seay; nephews Harold Sharpe, Freeman Baulding and John Baulding.
