Dear Carrie ;

The Robinson Family sends our love and prayers to you and your family. It was a blessing to find neighbors like you when we moved next door in 1999. Not knowing anybody you and John took us under your wings and loved our family unconditionally. We will always keep in touch with you and we certainly do miss those weekend games of Skip-Bo. John was always a very kind person and he will always be in our thoughts. We love you, and you are very much in our thoughts and prayers.

We extend our heartfelt sympathies to Carrie and the rest of John’s family. Because John and Carrie took the time to drive 90 miles out of their way, while returning home from vacation one year we were able to connect with a branch of the family we did not know before. We had a nice visit with them that year and they shared our information with the rest of his family and we are very grateful for there generosity in sharing information. We wish the best for the family and may God be with them as journey forward without John’s loving presence. May God bless and keep them.

Blessings to all of you. John Protheroe had a powerfully positive impact on our family. We were blessed by his actions on our behalf and his friendship with my husband, John. We are truly thankful we met him at what was a difficult time in our lives. May God be with you through this sad and painful time. John Protheroe was a great Christian man. He is home with his Savior and as Christians we know we will see him again. We pray God will comfort each of you. Warmest regards, Ann McAllister (Mrs. John W. McAllister)

We are so thankful that John and Carrie drove 90 miles out of their way to come through Wichita to see if the could locate any relatives because they knew his dad had a brother that had lived in Kansas and they had a directory that listed some Protheroe’s in Wichita. We had a nice visit with them that evening but they didn’t have extra time to spend. They shared our information with his brothers. They put us in contact with a branch of the family we might otherwise have never known. We are so grateful to them for their generosity. Carrie, we are very sorry for you loss and will keep in contact with you. Your faith will see you through. May God Bless you, always.

Dear Carrie, Michael, David, Nancy and all the members of John's family,our prayers and thoughts are with you. I treasure John's love and friendship. He is a very special person in my life. I love him dearly. John hired me as a sales representative for American Greeting in 1975. I promised him that in all that I do would be to make him proud of me. I promised to earn his trust, his respect and perhaps someday, I may even earn his friendship. Today, thrity three years later, I have lost a treasured friend and brother in Christ. John is a man of honor. Much of my successful career with American Greetings, I owe to John. He also taught me much about life. His great love for God, his family, his friends, his work, joy, smile, kindness, humor and appreciation for life will stay in my heart for as long as I live. I am a better person because God allowed his servant, John Woodruff Protheroe to pass my way.
John, in my heart and in my home, you will always be remembered and you will always be loved. As I promised in 1975, I have kept my word, dear friend. In all that I do will be to make you proud of me.
Those of us with American Greetings who had the opportunity to hired by John,we are his kids also.
With deepest, heartfelt sympathy to John's family.

I have such wonderful memories of Woody from childhood. Even though I've been sad, I've had a smile on my face thinking of them over the past couple of days. I hope you are able to do the same, Carrie.
