Laurel, Maryland - Mrs. Johnnie Mae Evans, born September 17, 1932, in Wadesboro, NC, transitioned peacefully on January 30, 2025, in Laurel, MD. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, she was a lifelong member of Grier Heights Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC. Throughout her career in medical administration, she touched many lives with her kindness and hard work. In her later years, she moved to Silver Spring, MD, to be close to her family. She leaves behind her sons, daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, god-daughter and extended family. Her legacy of love and faith will live on in all who knew her.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at 11:00a.m. at Grier Heights Presbyterian Church, 325 Skyland Ave, Charlotte, NC 28205. Visitation will be from 10:00a.m. - 11:00a.m. Burial will follow service at Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery. Grier Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

My condolences to the Bennett/Evans Family on the passing of their beloved Mother. Mrs. Evans was a next door neighbor of my parents for at least 40ish years. She became my 2nd Mom. She was a beautiful woman inside & out. She's going to be missed. I know she's with the Lord and now she's our guardian angel. Take your rest Mom. Luv Luv!
