June Derby
April 14, 1928 - September 10, 2021
Charlotte, North Carolina - June Estelle Bost Derby reunited on Sept. 10, 2021, with her husband Harry, her parents Alexander and Myrtle Bost, and other beloved family members. June was born in High Point NC on April 14, 1928, and graduated from Woman's College in Greensboro. She met there Harry Derby, and after they married and graduated from college, they lived in NY and NJ for 15 years until they returned to NC, in Charlotte, their home for the rest of their lives. June's pride was her family – Harry, who passed three years ago, their 3 children, 8 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. As the matriarch, June nurtured her family to be like her: strong, independent, committed, and caring. Her other loves included roses, gardens, clothes, travel, Europe, and tennis in which she competed for state championships into her 60s. June will be deeply missed by her family, who requests donations be directed to Hospice Charlotte hpccr.org.

Our family will miss June. She was our Arborway neighbor and friend for over 23 years. My girls sold her many boxes of Girl Scout Cookies and enjoyed her warmth and humor. I loved my conversations with June- she was always engaging and very interesting with lots of spunk. We are thinking of your family and sending thoughts and prayers. Kim, Jeff, Ellis and Ava Ewert

I would think of June every time I would drive down Arbor Way. We played tennis together, went to Vienna together. I hope she didn´t suffer. I know she missed Harry. Bless each of you!
