Katie Tucker Obituary
Katie was born on May 5,1937 in Lenoir, North Carolina. She also lived in Charlotte, North Carolina and Dallas, Texas. Her life was filled with joy and a devotion to the Lord and her family. She loved walking, traveling, classical music and reading.
Survivors include her daughter, Shawn Patrice Tucker Pierce and her husband, Wyman Pierce of Dallas, Texas, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Zora Cox Thornburg, her father, Johnny Cox, and her beloved husband of 53 years, William (Tuck) Tucker.
A Celebration of life will be held in both Dallas, Texas at Prince of Peace Catholic Church on January 10th at 12:30 p.m. at 5100 Plano Parkway, Plano, Texas and in Charlotte, North Carolina at St. Peter's Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m., January 24th, 507 S. Tryon Street, Charlotte, North Carolina.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church (507 S. Main Street, Charlotte, North Carolina) Best Friends Animal Society (Bestfriends.org), or any animal charity of your choice.

Shawn, you don't know me but I knew your dad and mom and I am so sorry for your loss. Your dad hired me at JP Stevens around 1979. Best boss I ever had. Your mom would attend the reunions with him. She was a sweetheart. I would always get a Christmas card from them. Your dad would talk about you and your rabbit, Miss Scarlet, who was later determined to be a Mr.! They are missed.

Mrs. Tucker will surely be missed. She worked at the voting polls a number of times. She was a joy to talk to. She was a very lovely lady full of life. Love you Mrs. TUCKER REST IN PEACE MY DEAR FRIEND.
