Charlotte, North Carolina - Kevin Healy (69) passed away on May 31, 2021. He faced multiple medical challenges throughout his life with courage and determination.
Kevin loved his Family, his Townhome and his close friends. Youngest child of five, he was born in Brooklyn, NY to Michael J. and Sarah J. (McCurry) Healy. He attended Garden City and Huntington High Schools, graduating from Belmont Abbey College in 1979. Kevin loved playing in a band throughout college and was a big Jimmy Hendricks fan. He stayed in the NC area, had a career in Hospitality serving many grateful families for several decades. Most of all Kevin was a huge sports fan and avid follower of everything Hornets and Panthers! Kevin had his own personal relationship with God and we are confident he was welcomed into Christ's waiting arms. With his beautiful singing voice he can now entertain "The Leader of the Band".
Kevin is survived by his devoted brothers, Robert (Bob) and Gerald (Jerry) Healy, both of NC; his beloved sister, Patricia Paternostro of Mineola, NY; sisters-in-law, Bernice, Kathy and Lynda Healy; as well as 10 nephews/nieces and 21 great nephews/nieces. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Michael (who died six weeks ago); his niece and Goddaughter, Megan Healy; nephew, Michael Paternostro; and brother-in-law, Peter Paternostro.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 13700 Lawyers Rd. in Mint Hill on Friday, June 18; Visitation at 3:00 pm, Memorial Mass at 4:00 pm. McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel is serving the family.
The family expresses deep thanks to Fr. Paul Gary, caregiver Jugbeh Giles, others at CarePoint, and all for their prayers and love.
