Kimberly Jones Obituary
Kim moved to Charlotte after attending Meredith College and NC State University in Raleigh. She worked with Carolina Business Interiors for 25 years in various capacities. Her true love was being a mother, sister, and wife. Planning family trips, finding great places to stay, and the perfect place to eat, no matter how small the town, were her natural talents. Her attention to detail and focus on everything being just right, while not wanting any of the spot light, made her special.
Kim was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Ann Lemmond Smith and Walter Vann Lemmond, Jr. and paternal grandmother, Maude Nye McKee.
She is survived by her husband, Derick Jones; son, Addison and daughter, Laney; her grandfather, Spencer McKee; siblings Tara (Trevor) Kracker, Jaime (Tripp) Satterwhite, and Mark (Alyson) McKee; In-laws Leila and Russ Jones; sister-in-law Ashley (Robert) McMillian; Nieces and nephews, Mack, Davis, and Leila McMillan; Vann, Cole & Anna Satterwhite; Kenan Kracker; and Bradley & Aedan McKee.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Sanctuary at Christ Lutheran Church, 4519 Providence Road Charlotte, NC with Pastor Scott Suskovic officiating. Family will receive friends following the service.
The family would like to thank Kim's medical team at Levine Cancer Institute, especially Brenda McKay and Dr. Antoinette Tan for never giving up; as well as CMC 7T nursing staff for their compassionate care.
