Linda Schepler Obituary

Linda
Carolyn March Schepler
CONCORD -- Linda went to be with her Savior in her eternal home Wednesday, February 16, 2011. She succumbed at her home to the ravages of cancer after a valiant effort fighting her disease for over two years.
Linda was born in Penn Yann, NY on August 5, 1941, the daughter of Victor and Blanche Southcombe March. Shortly after, she moved to Brockport, NY where she graduated from Brockport High School in 1959 and then received her elementary teaching degree from Brockport State University in 1962. In December 1961, she married Richard Schepler. Their union of over 49 years was blessed with the arrival of four children. Regardless of the activity, organization, or employment, she was a mother first. Everything else became secondary. Later, that same dedication and commitment to her children extended to her nine grandchildren. Nothing pleased her more than to see her family succeed in all of their endeavors.
Linda is survived by her beloved husband Richard; her children and their spouses, Richard, Jr. and Jennifer of Rochester, NY, Randall and Janet of Hilton, NY, Raymond and Karen of Concord, NC, and Rebecca and Richard Gamel of Groton, NY; and her grandchildren, Richard III and wife Lisa, Katherine, Danielle, Alex, Dylan, Lauren, Joseph, Madeline and Nicholas. Linda is also survived by her sister Penelope Bradler and husband Paul, sister-in-law Carol Ennis and husband Donald, cousin, Bruce Jenkins and wife Barbara, and many dear and loved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 7 to 9pm at Wilkinson Funeral Home in Concord. A memorial service will be held at a later date in New York.
In lieu of flowers, in memory of Linda, friends wishing to may contribute to Ascension Lutheran Church, Charlotte, NC; Victory Junction Gang, Randleman, NC; or The Jeff Gordon Children's Hospital, Concord, NC.
Online condolences may be left at www.wilkinsonfuneralhome.com.
