Lloyd McCord Obituary

PINE KNOLL SHORES -- Lloyd T. (Ted) McCord died Wednesday, February 5, 2003 after many months of struggling with cancer.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM at Bogue Banks Baptist Church with the Rev. Patrick D. Williams officiating. There will be a private burial at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
Mr. McCord was born and reared in Mecklenburg County by Lloyd T. and Fay McCord. He worked for the Charlotte Observer for 20 years, then began a retail shoe business and retired to Pine Knoll Shores after 30 years in business.
His wife, Evelyn Collins McCord survives him as well as his daughter, Cathi McCord Tanner of Calgary Alberta, Canada; his son, Charles McCord of Greenville; his sister, Suzanne McCord Crawford of Huntersville; five grandchildren, Caroline & April Tanner and Cole, Kalee & Grace McCord.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bogue Banks Baptist Church, PO Box 2988, Atlantic Beach, NC 28512.
