Lois Treece Obituary
Ms. Treece was born on June 1, 1925 in Stanly County to the late Hattie Belle Thompson Underwood and Thomas Fairley Underwood. She graduated from Albemarle High School and also earned a cosmetology license. While living in Albemarle, she was a member at West Albemarle Baptist Church. She later moved to Mecklenburg County where she worked as a Veteran's Service Officer and became a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
Lois Treece invested her time wisely with her priorities of God first, family second and career third. She was intentional with her life, focused on raising her children with purpose and passion about family and community. She leaves a rich legacy of having lived a life that made a difference.
She is survived by her daughter Pamela Coffey (Gerald) of Boca Raton, FL; son Terry Stephen Treece (Leslie) of Denver, NC; grandchildren: Ann Bean of Lafayette, LA, Scott Coffey of Boca Raton, FL, David Coffey (Tracy) of Boca Raton, FL, and Lindsay Lesh (Jonathan) of Tega Cay, SC; 7 great-grandchildren; brother Ed Underwood (Luedith) of Albemarle, NC; nephews: Greg Underwood of Albemarle, NC, and Tony Underwood of Weddington, NC; and a niece Sheila McManus of Charlotte, NC. Ms. Treece was preceded in death by a son David Alan Treece, sister Mable McManus, and former husband Dewey Daniel Treece.
The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the caring and skilled staff at Carmel Hills Retirement Community in Charlotte, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Albemarle Baptist Church at 336 Church St., Albemarle, NC 28001 or to the charity of your choice.
