MARIANNE KEIR CARTER

Florence, MA - Marianne Keir Carter passed away at Baystate Medical Center on August 14, 2023. Born in Boston July 30, 1945 and was raised in Gorham NH, and Whitefield NH. Her Parents Richard Henry Keir and Ruth (Arey) Kier, who owned, and operated a plumbing business in Whitefield for many years.

She graduated from Whitefield High School, and attended Northampton Commercial College. It was there that she met her husband Wayne Ralph Carter. They were later married and had two children. Marianne worked for the Northampton Public School System for 28 years as a secretary. She joined the Navy reserve and served for 8 years.

She was strong in her Christian faith and attended Edwards Church in Northampton for many years. She enjoyed rug braiding for years and would show her work at the local fairs, winning many ribbons for her art. Marianne loved life, and enjoyed everything. She was thoughtful, and kind to everyone she met. She traveled to many countries, and liked to see new places.

She was predeceased by both her parents, her brother John M Kier, and her husband Wayne Carter. She is survived by her daughter Stacie Carter- Brisson, her granddaughter Kristin Carter, son-in-law James Brisson, her son Scott Carter, his two children Wayne and Alicia Carter, daughter-in-law Donna Carter, and a great granddaughter Rylan Shay Carter. She will be dearly missed by several cousins, nieces, nephews and Aunt Gladys.

Services will be held at Czelusniak Funeral home, 173 North Street Northampton MA. Calling Hours will be held Monday August 21, 2023 from 4-7pm. An In House Service will be held on Tuesday August 22 at 10am with burial to follow at Spring Grove Cemetery. Immediately following, a gathering will be held at the Haydenville Masonic lodge located at 2 S Main st in Haydenville MA.
