You will truly be missed, I love you like a mother, you were a Pillar of strength to the Lincoln Heights Community and I know that God has dressed in a beautiful robe and crown, because you lead a life of leadership that was full of examples for many to follow. Sending prayers to the Butler, Maxwell/Sadler families. Mary was a jewel to know and work with at Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was a great friend and always would be there if you needed someone to just listen to your thoughts or ideals. Family cherish the memories that you have and may grace and peace surround you all.

Our heartfelt condolences are extended to Tina and the Sadler, Maxwell, and Butler family. Mary was a special person full of compassion and love for others. We met in the early 70's as C'est La Vie social club sisters. She was a leader, mentor, and friend to so many people. She will wear her crown proudly.

Sister Mary was such a great support and inspiration to me.
She was a wonderful mentor to me with our Sunday School Ministry at Ebenezer. She gifted me a sketched portrait by a local artist of JCSU, my alma mater. I displayed this portrait in my schools in Charlotte, Kansas City, KS, and now in Asheville. Much love to you Chauntina and the rest of the Butler family. Sharon

I am so sad to hear of Mary's passing. We worked together with the Charlotte Mecklenburg School Retirement organization and because of her, our membership grew. She was a go-getter and extremely dedicated to her faith, family and friends. When given a task she saw it through to the end and would even go back later to make sure things were as they were suppose to be. She and I (and Peggy Teeter) shared much laughter filled days in our little office at the ed center. I will remember the twinkle in her eyes and her beautiful smile more than anything. I regret I will not be at her funeral but you all be in my thoughts, my heart and my prayers. May she rest in peace.
