Michael James Huff
WAXHAW -- Mr. Huff, 43, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2009, after a long and courageous battle with Leukemia at Duke University Hospital in Durham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 24, 2009 with Monsignor John J. McSweeney celebrant at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 8015 Ballantyne Commons Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28277. Interment will be private.
Mr. Huff was born in Cortland, NY, on June 10, 1965, son to Charlane Yost Huff and the late Hugh James Huff.
Survivors include his wife and best friend, Meredith Reynolds Huff of the home; children, Jeffrey of Allentown, PA, Caitlin and Ashley, both of the home; mother, Charlane Yost Huff, of Sanford, NC; grandmother, Mae Yost, of Sanford, NC; brother, Brian Huff, of St. Charles, IL; and also by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions should be made to the Michael J. Huff Memorial Fund for Caitlin and Ashley, in the name of Meredith Huff. Please sent contributions to Sun Trust Bank, 9836 Rea Road, Charlotte, NC 28277 or to the Leukemia Foundation of America, Donor Services, P.O. Box 4072 Pittsfield, MA 01202.

Mike was a good partner at G&K. I had the privlage of working with Mike on a large project involving the Dockers product. It was clear quickly why he was such a good leader. I know he will be missed by many in his personal life, the loss also extends to the people who had a chance to work with him in his business life.

We only met Mike a few months ago when our daughter, Haylee was drafted onto his Basketball team for the winter season. I always enjoyed watching him coach the girls during practice and cheering them on in the games. Win or loose, he always praised them on how they played. We could tell his heart and energy was devoted to the girls being the best they could be all while having fun. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and all that loved him. He will be missed.
