I graduated with Millicent from UNC Chapel Hill's speech path program. I and am just learning of her passing. My heart is aching for her children and her parents. Millicent was such a bright spot in grad school and had a passion for children. She was a special light in this world who was extinguished way too early. Much love to you all and I am so sorry.

Tonight I learned of Millicent's passing. We were roommates Summer 1989 at Carolina's Project Uplift weekend. From there blossomed a special friendship. After many years we reconnected Oct 2012 and spoke regularly about our boys and issues in our lives that were so remarkedly parallel. Thank you God for giving me the opportunity to reconnect with my dear friend and pick up the same closeness right where we left after 20 years apart. That, I will cherish as the silver lining of losing my sweet bubbly encouraging friend Millicent. We had the chance to say hello and I love you...again. Until we meet again. Blessings to her two beautiful boys, sister, and parents.

I know that God places people in our path for a reason. Milicent was not only my neighbor upstairs, she was a friend and a sister. Although I am truly heartbroken, I know that her worries about the cares on this earth is no more, and She is with our Father Who Art In Heaven. I will continue to keep Matthew and David, and The Blair Family lifted before God.
May the Strength, Peace, and Comfort of The Lord Continue to be upon you.

My prayers to Millicent's family...I pray that God continues to give you comfort for the difficult road ahead. Please allow her time spent with you and all of her works for God give you comfort as well. Although I am unknown to Millicent and her family I am no stranger to your tragedy. The death of my youngest sister Lauren E. Robinsn resulted in DV 2007. God puts us in positions that we sometime don't understand, he put me in position this evening to lend words of condolences and faithfulness.

I remember from a child standing at the bus stop with her sister. It didn't matter how bad I was feeling, because when those girls would say Hi Ms. Simpson when I would stop at the stop sign where they were waiting for the school bus, they were like a ray of sunshine that lifted my spirits to make it through one more day. I knew they loved me because of their smile and happiness in waiting to say hello to me to help make my day a GREAT DAY! Who would have thought, me a 63 year old woman would see this wonderful, loving child of this community would leave before me. I am devastated - but I know this - she was placed in my path to encourage and love me from a distance - such an angel... Rest my child, for you have completed your journey in the eyes of the Lord. We may not understand why such a tragic, terrible end had to happen, but we must remember, God has the last word - even in our demise. You blessed me every morning you stood on that corner - you did not know that I was very very ill, but your light and the love in your heart that I felt kept me going. Rest peacefully in the arms of your Father God! Thank you for being a special force in my life. I will cherish your memory forever.

I worked with Millicent at West Lake Elementary in Wake County Schools. I found her warm, intelligent, and very caring. She was a positive force and I wish her boys the very best...

I just found out about this tragic event last night. I knew Millicent from Jr High. Although it was just puppy love back then, she was actually my first kiss. She always had a very bright spirit about her. My thoughts and prayers are with you, your children and family! God Bless you all!!

My husband Maurice Blaylock was Millicent hairstylist for about 8 years , we considered Lynette & Millicent family . Millicent would bring the boys ( matthew & David ) to the salon with her on occasions , she loved them very much . Our thoughts and prayers goes out to the boys & family . We love y'all . Mr and Mrs Blair, Lynette; I briefly worked with Millicent in Durham Public Schools years ago. After a long stretch of time, Millicent saw me, with a smile remembered my name, and had nothing but positive, wonderful things to say. She always spoke about her babies with the glow of love in her eyes. I too am a therapist and Soror. I look forward to hopefully meeting her again with that beautiful smile." I am on the faculty in Speech and Hearing Sciences at UNC-CH and met Millicent when she was in the Master's program there. She was smart, vibrant, and caring, and we were proud to say she was one of our graduates. To the Blair family...
Millicent and I attended WCHS and UNC Chapel Hill together and during that time she was a good friend to me. Both she and Lynnette were well respected for their tremendous talents and their incredible intellligence, but as I got to know her, I also began to appreciate Millicent's kindness, insight and wisdom as well.
I am so very deeply and truly saddened to hear of her passing but I am certain that the faithful God that we serve will carry each of you through this most difficult time.

I am deeply saddened by a life cut drastically short. I met Millicent years ago at Watts Chapel. We both served as advisors for the FB Weaver Choir while I was there, and I saw her again 2 years ago at a reunion concert. She was a very sweet and outgoing person and she will be missed by many. May you find comfort in your Heavenly Father during this time, but be assured she is at peace. Blessings and strength to you and your family.
