Nancy Waite Arnall

May 15, 1929 - September 10, 2024

Charlotte, North Carolina - Nancy Waite Arnall, 95, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024, in Charlotte, NC.

Nancy was born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 15, 1929, to Dr. and Mrs. Charles Loring Waite. Her family relocated to Washington, DC at the age of two. She attended Hood College and graduated from George Washington University in 1951.

While employed at the National Security Agency, Nancy met her future husband, Bernard Arnall. Upon their marriage in 1957, they relocated to Severna Park, Md to raise their family.

In 1982, Nancy and Bernie relocated to New Bern, N.C. where they made many new friends and enjoyed retirement, boating and golf. While in New Bern, Nancy volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Hospice, and Guardian Ad Litem.

In 2011, they moved to The Cypress Club in Charlotte, N.C. She was an avid bridge player, master of the most difficult crossword puzzles, and enjoyed reading. Nancy was blessed to live in such a vibrant, caring facility. She will be remembered for her smile, concern for others, and positive attitude.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Bernard Gwinn Arnall and her brother Dr. Charles Loring Waite.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert Gwinn Arnall (Stephanie) and Stephen Andrew Arnall (Elizabeth). Nancy had six grandchildren (Sarah Gwinn Arnall, Jessica Katherine Arnall, Caroline Grace Arnall, Kristen Arnall Wiginton (Tucker), Davis Andrew Arnall (Kelly), and Jonathan Lang Arnall (Allison), and three great grandchildren (Wyatt Stephen Wigington, Henry Tucker Wigington, and Miller Elizabeth Wigington).

Rob & Steve,
May God bless and comfort you and your families during this time.

I have many fond memories of your mother ...
the many times she welcomed me at your house while growing up in Severna Park, seeing and talking with her at many of your family's life events and most recently talking with her on the phone.

I think of her as a second mother as I always knew she cared about me.

Know that she meant a lot to me.

Rob, Steve and families,
I´m so sorry to hear that your dear Mom passed away. She had a long life full of many joys and very well lived. But it is still hard to adjust to her absence, I´m sure. I will always treasure the memories I have of her, coming to play bridge, the occasional crab feast and just talking as neighbors do! Love to all of you
